Tony Choi
Tony Choi has long been as a policy architect and practitioner.
He served as the assistant secretary to the President of Korea for ICT policy coordination and also worked as a consultant and policy counsel at World Bank, Microsoft and SK Telecom. He is one of the pioneers of Korea Infrastructure Initiative and has regularly contributed in the ICT policy formation of many other countries.
His passion is channeling his interests and talents into global social development and change. He founded TechForDev, a global social enterprise specialized in ICT-based development model for developing countries. He has worked closely with various organizations such as OECD and World Bank on critical ICT agendas including “digital divide”.
He gives advice and lectures at various occasions around the world. His global initiatives are warmly supported by many entities including Oxford University Alumni network.
He was selected as a Europe-Asia Young Leader 2011 of BMW foundation.
He currently holds the position of managing director of ICT Hope, an ICT-based global non profit organization.
토니 최는 ICT 분야 정책 전문가이자 실천가입니다. 대통령비서실에서 ICT 정책조정 업무를 담당하였고, 세계은행 컨설턴트, 이동통신회사에서 정책고문, 글로벌 소프트웨어 회사에서 법무정책 담당 이사로 일했습니다.
TechForDev이라는 사회적 기업을 설립하여 개발도상국을 대상으로 ICT 기반의 사회경제 개발 프로젝트를 추진해 왔습니다.
또한 OECD와 세계은행 등의 국제기구, 그리고 한국을 비롯한 세계 각국 정부에 정보격차해소를 포함한 주요 ICT 정책에 대해 자문해 왔습니다.
2011년 BMW재단의 유럽-아시아 공동 Young Leader로 선정되었습니다.
그는 현재 ICT Hope라는 ICT 기반 비영리 단체의 상임이사를 맡고 있습니다.
